to have a part in Clue the Musical as a chorus member. Tough competition, but I made it.

All-District Honors Choir
Yesterday was so much fun. I participated in a district choir. 350 people auditioned, 150 people were accepted. That is approximately 42% of everone who auditioned. I JUST DID MATH.
So I woke up at 5:30am and went to bed at 10pm. I stood on my feet the entire time. My back and feet ACHED. Also, my right arm is very very very sore from holding my music. Wow, that's pretty pathetic. That was my complaining part of this entry. Okay, done with that.
It was super fun. I had been working on these challenging songs for weeks. Whether they were in some weird Latin language or had trcky timing and notes, I took the challenge and studied the music dilligently with my teacher and on my own. Our clinician showed up the day of the concert. How awesome would it be to direct a concert with a bunch of talented kids who already knew their music? I believe it would be very awesome.
Fun day. Fun, long day.

Which Should I Read!?
In my Honors English II class, we have a choice of books to read in our literature circles every month or so. This month I am stuck between two, and I need YOUR help!
The DaVinci Code and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest are piquing my interest. Should I go for the easy read and something I've always been curious about and go for The DaVinci Code? Or, should I challenge myself to a slow-paced classic?
Vote now :)
**Note- Keep in mind that there are movies for both. If you have seen either of them and suggest that I should read the book instead, feel free to tell me!

P.S.
I made it into All District choir along with five of the 15-20 ish people who auditioned. I don't know, that's probably wrong. I'm very bad at estimating numbers. But anyways, yup. I'm in :)

So Many Auditions!
Including:
-Little shop of Horrors: didn't make it into that one. It's being done at a local boy's school. The local girl's school has basically claimed it as their territory. So the four public school girls didn't make it in. Whatever.
-An Inspector Calls: The first play I've ever auditioned for. Not musical. Didn't make it in to that one either. But that's okay because there were only three girl parts. Same as the rest of the plays/ musical this year. Lame.
-All District Choir: Happened yesterday. Apparently I did really well, according to Mrs. Fritz, my choir teacher. She didn't specifically hear me, she was outside of the chour room, but she talked to the judges and they specifically mentioned me. I was excited about that. I'm not too concerned about getting into this. I just auditioned for fun. But I find out tomorrow or later today whether I made it in or not.
Fun, fun :)

Falling Back Into Routine
School starts seeming less and less important to me every year I have it. My grades are starting to slip- for me, that's B's. Don't be too worried- and everything is just becoming a bore. Not to mention, I won't even be able to be in this year's musical. That's a bit of a bummer but there's always other opportunities, I guess.
I dyed my hair and ugly dark color, but that always comes out.
Also, if anyone's interested, if you click on the picture of the book I'm currently reading it will direct you to a review of the book. Just a little something I fixed up :)
Another super interesting note to brighten up your life (super sarcasm)- I'm going vegetarian. Yes. I know, it's crazy, but it's healhier and I'd rather not eat animals if I can avoid it. So I've gone two weeks exactly so far. That's not impressive, but when it's gets to be a bit more impressive I'll be sure to let you know. Dearest chicken, I'll miss you.
I have joined speech team and although I haven't even started competing, I'm enjoying it. I've decided to compete in Storytelling and perhaps Duo Interpretation. It's going to be lots of fun.
By the way, like my ladybug? <<< It makes me happy :)

Repetitious and Uninteresting
This time of year is usually, and regrettably, quite an unproductive time. I neither have homework to work on nor a play to rehearse. I have no music to study or even, in my current case, house to clean. I have recently broken two bones in my left foot. I like to look at the bright side of this situation and thank my lucky stars that in happened in the summer. However, I can not stop mentally complaining about how dull it is without the use of your feet.
I spend my uneventful days reading books required for my Honors English II class that quite frankly bore me to tears. There's only so much time I can spend entertaining myself on the computer before I am scolded and told to continue reading. After all, that is one of the only productive things I have found to busy myself with. But how much is there to the story of a preacher's family in the African Congo? Why do the paragraphs and chapters continue on and on about hardships and dirt!? If you like books droning on for forever about Africa then check out the book, The Poisonwood Bible, by Barbara Kingsolver. At least Oprah likes it.
